Founded in the year 2000, it got affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2006. Dasmesh Girls College has been the dream project of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Educational Trust (Regd). As its credentials speak its standards, it has become a preferred destination for those aspiring students who pursue their interest in the disciplines of professional and traditional studies. The institute offers some of the best academic resources for excellence in these disciplines, be it by way of faculty, infrastructure, library and computers.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ravinder Chadha, the founder Principal of Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian is the invigorating and motivating force behind students and teaching fraternity of the college. With 35 years of rich experience in teaching and administration, she has been guiding the destinies of the college since July 2006. In a short span of nine plus years, she has transformed the college into a cathedral of multi-disciplinary institute providing students exposure to diverse cultural and academic activities leading to cross pollination of ideas. The College, at present, has become a bustling place where ideas are encouraged, imagination is nourished and curiosity is cultivated to transform passion into flourishing careers. It provides professional and traditional courses like BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc(NM) in addition to BA(Fine Art), M.Com, M.A(Music Vocal), M.A(History), M.A(Hindi) and PGDCA.
Born in December 14, 1953 her academic career has been brilliant. After completing her graduation and post-graduation in History from DAV and HMV Jalandhar respectively, she served Dev Samaj College for Girls Ambala. After pursuing Ph.D on India’s Overseas Trade Relation With China 1833-60 in 1983 from Panjab University, Chandigarh. After discharging her duty as an Associate Professor cum HOD in the Department of History at G.N.B.L. Ramgarhia College, Phagwara, she, at present, is heading Dasmesh Girls College, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian in the capacity of Principal where again her credentials speak about her high standards of education being imparted to students, especially to the girls coming from Kandi and suburban areas of the city.
As a research scholar she has to her credit a book entitled India-China Trade Relation With China 1833-60 in addition to an intellectual paper on “A Study of Indo-Chinese Trade Relations from Earlier Times To 18th Century” which has appeared in VISION, an International Journal.
To epitomize students’ potential and provide them direction, cohesive training, programmes like Seminars, Workshops and Symposia are conducted regularly, As many as 26 Seminars/Workshops have been hosted by the College till date, guiding and grooming students towards synergizing theoretical knowledge and practical skills for gaining professional competence. Besides, under her astute guidance the college has been able to organize two Zonal Youth Festivals and Convocation.
Besides her academic career as teacher and principal, She became the Member of Academic Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Member of Alumni Association Panjab University, Chandigarh and Member of Board of Studies GNDU, Amritsar. She has also been the Visiting Faculty Research Supervisor at Apex University, Pasighat, Arunchal Pradesh.
Her pragmatic idealism, inspiring enthusiasm and love for sports has enabled her to become Member of Sports Executive Committee, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Under her stalwartship the college in marching from strength to strength.
